On the morning of September 30, Dong Thap University held the Conference of Staff and Employee Representatives for the 2026–2027 Academic Year at Hall H1. The Conference provided an opportunity for the University to review the results of the 2025–2026 academic year, listen to the views of its staff and employees, and reach consensus on key orientations and tasks for the new academic year.
Attending the Conference were Dr. Truong Tan Dat – Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong – Vice Rector; Dr. Cao Dao Thep – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Sy Thang – Vice Rector; MSc. Pham Van Hiep – Chairman of the University Trade Union; and MSc. Tran Van Luan – Vice Chairman of the University Trade Union, together with current and former University leaders and delegates representing staff and employees from faculties, offices, centers, other constituent units and affiliated units of the University.
The Conference built on discussions previously held across units throughout the University. A wide range of proposals, recommendations, and constructive suggestions concerning academic-year tasks, professional activities, management, and the University’s development were consolidated for further consideration and discussion at the University level.
Based on these discussions, delegates reviewed the achievements of the 2025–2026 academic year and exchanged views on the theme, tasks, solutions, and targets for the 2026–2027 academic year. The discussions focused on enhancing the quality of the University’s activities, improving the effectiveness of individual units, and creating more favorable conditions for staff and employees to successfully fulfill their responsibilities.
A spirit of openness and responsibility was maintained throughout the Conference. University leaders directly listened to and addressed issues raised by delegates, while matters requiring further consideration were duly noted for relevant units to study, advise on, and address as appropriate.
The views shared at the Conference provided the University with further insight into the actual circumstances of its units, enabling timely consideration of matters related to the work, working conditions, and well-being of staff and employees. Regular dialogue among the University leadership, the Trade Union, and staff and employees also contributes to stronger coordination and a more cohesive and stable working environment.
On this occasion, Dong Thap University commended and rewarded collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movements of the 2025–2026 academic year. The recognition acknowledged the efforts and positive contributions of staff and employees in fulfilling their responsibilities while providing further motivation for continued achievement in the new academic year.
The achievements of the past academic year were made possible by the contributions of lecturers, administrative and managerial staff, support staff, and units providing services to students. Their initiative, responsibility, and coordination in carrying out their respective duties contributed to enhancing the quality of education and training, scientific research, governance, and support services, creating positive achievements across the University’s activities.
The Conference of Staff and Employee Representatives for the 2026–2027 Academic Year once again demonstrated Dong Thap University’s commitment to its staff and employees while fostering consensus in the implementation of tasks for the new academic year. With the 2026–2027 academic year theme, “Innovating Governance – Enhancing Quality – Creating Development,” and with a strong foundation of solidarity and the collective commitment of its staff and employees, the University will continue to enhance the quality of education and training, improve management effectiveness and the working environment, and further leverage the strengths of each unit, contributing to the continued development of Dong Thap University as an increasingly innovative, professional, and internationally integrated institution.
