On the morning of September 14, Dong Thap University, in collaboration with Continental Textile Co., Ltd. and Shandong Polytechnic University (China), held the Opening Ceremony of the 4th Chinese-Language Textile and Garment Industry Order-Based Training Course, continuing to implement a training model that integrates foreign language learning with professional skills and the practical needs of businesses.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Li Jin – Assistant Director of the Human Resources Department, Continental Textile Co., Ltd.; Ms. Tian Meihua and Mr. Wang Zhike – lecturers from Shandong Polytechnic University; and representatives of Continental Textile Co., Ltd. Representing Dong Thap University were Dr. Cao Dao Thep – Vice Rector; representatives of the Office of International Affairs and Communications, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Academic Affairs Office; and students participating in the program.
The 4th Chinese for the Textile and Garment Industry Order-Based Training Course brings together 29 Chinese Language majors and runs from September 14 to December 9, 2026, comprising a total of 224 periods taught directly by specialized lecturers from Shandong Polytechnic University.
Designed around an approach that combines foreign language development with professional skills training, the course focuses on connecting Chinese language learning with the knowledge and practical requirements of the textile and garment industry. Students are equipped with specialized terminology, professional knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to handle common situations in the workplace. Through this approach, Chinese is learned not merely as a foreign language but also as a practical tool for their future careers, helping students gradually shape their career paths, enhance their adaptability, and prepare to meet the demands of the labor market.
From 2023 until the launch of this course, the partners had jointly organized 03 Chinese-Language Textile and Garment Industry Order-Based Training courses for 124 Chinese Language majors and 02 English-Language Textile and Garment Marketing courses for 63 English Language majors, with a total of 187 student participations. With the addition of 29 students in this course, the Chinese-Language Textile and Garment Industry Order-Based Training program has attracted 153 students across 04 courses, demonstrating the appeal and practical value of a training model that connects foreign language learning with career needs.
As part of the program, the Continental Scholarship continues to be awarded to 40% of the students in the class based on their academic performance. The scholarship policy not only provides practical support for students but also encourages them to proactively improve their Chinese proficiency, professional knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities in professional settings.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Cao Dao Thep – Vice Rector of Dong Thap University – emphasized that students should regard the course as an important step in preparing for their future careers. Every specialized term, aspect of textile and garment technology, and workplace communication situation encountered during the course can become a practical tool for their future work. The University expects students to take an active approach to learning while developing professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
The continued implementation of the 4th Chinese-Language Textile and Garment Industry Order-Based Training Course demonstrates the increasingly strong partnership among the University - Businesses - International Partners in education and human resource development. Through training programs closely aligned with professional practice, Dong Thap University continues to expand opportunities for students to study, gain practical experience, undertake internships, and access employment opportunities. At the same time, these programs provide an environment in which students can develop foreign language proficiency alongside professional skills, enabling them to confidently integrate and adapt to both domestic and international labor markets.
