On September 14, at Hall H1, Dong Thap University held the Opening Ceremony of the National Defense and Security Education Course 1 for students of the 2026 intake.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Cao Dao Thep – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of Dong Thap University; representatives of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts Education, the Faculty of Political Education and Educational Management, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences Education; academic advisors; and 642 new students of the 2026 intake.
Course 1 brings together 642 new students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts Education, the Faculty of Political Education and Educational Management, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences Education. The students have been organized into 06 companies and are ready to begin nearly one month of study and training, from September 14 to October 11, 2026, at the National Defense and Security Education Training Area (Tan Viet Hoa Student Residence).
Notably, this is also the first week of regular academic activities for the new students at Dong Thap University. The course is not only an academic requirement of their programs but also a valuable opportunity for students to develop resilience and a strong sense of responsibility, enhance their political awareness, and strengthen the bonds of camaraderie.
To encourage the students ahead of their training, Dr. Cao Dao Thep – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of Dong Thap University – shared an inspiring message: “I believe that with the University’s thorough preparation, the strong sense of responsibility demonstrated by lecturers and management staff, and your own determination and efforts, Course 1 of the National Defense and Security Education course for students of the 2026 intake will achieve meaningful outcomes, ensure safety, provide valuable experiences, and become a memorable milestone in your university life.”
