On the afternoon of August 19, Dong Thap University and the Mekong Delta Regional Representative Office of Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper held a working session and signed a communications cooperation agreement, laying the groundwork for joint activities during the 2026–2030 period.
Attending the program, on behalf of Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper, were journalist Nguyen Xuan Loc, representative of the Editorial Board and Head of the Mekong Delta Regional Representative Office; journalist Nguyen Quoc Ngu; along with reporters and staff of the Representative Office. Representing Dong Thap University were Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Dr. Cao Dao Thep, Vice Rector; along with leaders of relevant functional units and other members.
With its strength as a media organization specializing in education, Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper serves as one of the information channels connecting issues across the education sector with educational institutions, educators, learners, and society. Building on their existing cooperation, Dong Thap University and Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper will continue to develop a long-term communications plan, with an emphasis on the quality, depth, and value of the content delivered.
With more than 50 years of experience in training teachers and educational managers, Dong Thap University has gradually developed into a multidisciplinary institution, expanding its education, scientific research, and community service in response to the human resource needs of the Mekong Delta region. The University is currently one of Vietnam’s 14 key higher education institutions for teacher education and continues to build on its strengths in this field while enhancing the quality of education and research and contributing to the development of the education sector.
Alongside this development, the University has placed increasing emphasis on providing accurate, timely, and in-depth information on education, scientific research, students, and community service activities. This also provides students, parents, educators, and the wider public with a more comprehensive understanding of Dong Thap University’s activities and development orientations.
In the coming period, Dong Thap University and Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper will continue to develop in-depth communications content on education, scientific research, students, and career opportunities, while expanding multimedia journalism, digital communications, and programs that strengthen connections with education across the region. Activities related to STEM, career guidance and counseling, communications training, forums, conferences, and workshops will also be explored and implemented as appropriate at different stages.
The cooperation is built on the respective strengths of both sides and the practical value of the information communicated. Dong Thap University will provide results, activities, and issues arising from its education, research, and community service practices, while Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper will draw on its journalistic expertise to identify appropriate approaches, present content effectively, and disseminate accurate and useful information to learners, educators, and educational institutions. Through this cooperation, communications content will not only accurately reflect the University’s development but also provide valuable information for education in the Mekong Delta region.
The areas of cooperation will be translated into specific plans for each stage, identifying appropriate content, implementation methods, responsibilities, and resources for each program.
As part of the program, Dong Thap University and Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on communications cooperation, providing a foundation for joint activities during the 2026–2030 period.
The cooperation agreement helps connect Dong Thap University’s practical experience in education, research, and development with the journalistic expertise of Giao duc & Thoi dai Newspaper. Through this partnership, valuable educational information can be communicated accurately and promptly to serve learners and the community, while strengthening connections and facilitating the exchange of practical issues concerning education in the Mekong Delta region.
