On August 19, Dong Thap University welcomed and held a working session with Thanh Nien Newspaper to discuss plans for jointly organizing the 5th Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament—2027 THACO Cup.
.Attending the meeting, on behalf of Dong Thap University, were Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Dr. Cao Dao Thep, Vice Rector; and leaders of relevant faculties and units. Representing Thanh Nien Newspaper were journalist Hai Thanh (Bao Phuoc), Standing Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper; journalist Tran Thanh Trang, Head of Thanh Nien Newspaper’s Representative Office in the Southwestern Region; and other members of the delegation.
The Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament is an annual football competition for university students, jointly organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) since 2023, under the supervision of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Vietnam National Union of Students. The tournament has officially been included in the Vietnam Football Federation’s annual national competition system and the Vietnam University Games (VUG).
The working session focused on exchanging information and discussing coordination for the organization of the 5th Vietnam Youth and Student – 2027 THACO Cup. The two sides thoroughly reviewed the conditions related to sports facilities and football pitches, grandstands, logistics, and communication plans, ensuring readiness to meet stringent standards for a professional, well-organized, and safe tournament.
The event marks an important step toward further strengthening the strategic partnership between Dong Thap University and Thanh Nien Newspaper. It also demonstrates the University’s commitment to investing in modern sports infrastructure and fostering a dynamic and holistic educational environment that supports students’ development in both knowledge and physical well-being.
