On the afternoon of August 7, Dong Thap University held a meeting with local landlords to discuss the situation of students living off campus and preparations for welcoming newly admitted students of the 2026 intake. The University also held a Signing Ceremony with the Cao Lanh Ward Police, My Tra Ward Police, and My Ngai Ward Police on the coordination of off-campus student management.
The program was attended by representatives of the leadership of Dong Thap University; representatives from relevant units of the Dong Thap Provincial Police, the Cao Lanh Ward Police, My Tra Ward Police, and My Ngai Ward Police; leaders of University units; representatives of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Viet Nam Union of Students; staff responsible for student management; local landlords; and students.
Accommodation and living conditions are among the key concerns for students when they begin studying away from home. For students living off campus, settling into suitable accommodation early not only makes daily life more convenient but also helps them feel prepared and confident as they pursue their studies and personal development.
In response to these practical needs, Dong Thap University maintains close connections with local landlords and students, with discussions focusing on accommodation arrangements, living conditions, key considerations in managing students living off campus, and preparations for accommodation for newly admitted students. The perspectives and feedback shared provided the University with further insights to better support students in securing stable accommodation and maintaining suitable living conditions throughout their studies.
As part of efforts to manage and support students in their places of residence, students were updated on public security and order in Cao Lanh Ward and key considerations for their personal safety. A representative of the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Division under the Dong Thap Provincial Police also delivered a thematic session on cybersecurity, common methods and tactics used in cybercrime, and preventive measures and skills to help students protect their personal information and property in the digital environment.
As part of the program, Dong Thap University, together with the Cao Lanh Ward Police, My Tra Ward Police, and My Ngai Ward Police, held a Signing Ceremony for an agreement on the coordination of off-campus student management. Through the agreement, the University and local police will continue their collaboration in managing and supporting students and maintaining public security and order, contributing to a safe, healthy, and civilized environment for learning and daily life.
On this occasion, Dr. Cao Dao Thep – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of Dong Thap University – received a Certificate of Merit from the Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Police in recognition of his contributions to maintaining security and order on campus. The University also recognized and commended police officers and local landlords for their effective contributions to off-campus student management during the previous academic year.
The University also presented Certificates of Merit to individuals who had made significant contributions to the coordination of off-campus student management, including officers of the Cao Lanh Ward Police and local landlords. The recognition acknowledged their positive contributions to managing and supporting students in their places of residence during the previous academic year.
Through meetings, information sharing, partnership agreements, and recognition of contributions to off-campus student management, Dong Thap University continues to support students in their daily lives and well-being. These efforts help students secure stable accommodation and focus on their studies while also ensuring the necessary preparations are in place to welcome newly admitted students of the 2026 intake.
