On the afternoon of July 3, at Hall H1, the Party Committee of Dong Thap University held the Periodic Party Committee Conference for the first six months of 2026, evaluating the results of tasks carried out during the first half of the year and identifying orientations and key missions for the last six months of 2026.
Attending the Conference were Comrade Huynh Thi Hoai Thu – Member of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee; Comrade Truong Tan Dat – Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of Dong Thap University; members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the University Party Committee, the Party Committee’s Inspection Commission, representatives of subordinate Party organizations, and all Party members of the University Party Committee.
The Conference focused on evaluating the Party Committee’s performance during the first six months of 2026; discussing orientations and missions for the coming period; and reviewing matters related to inspection, supervision, and the implementation of programs and plans issued by the University Party Committee.
In the first half of 2026, the Party Committee of Dong Thap University concentrated on leading and directing the implementation of tasks according to established programs and plans. Party building work continued to receive attention; political and ideological education was strengthened; the principle of democratic centralism was upheld; and the quality of activities at the Party Committee and Party cell levels was gradually improved. Inspection, supervision, mass mobilization, and leadership over unions and associations were carried out seriously, contributing to enhancing the overall effectiveness of the Party Committee.
Alongside Party building work, the University continued to implement activities across various fields such as training, assessment, admissions, scientific research, international cooperation, student affairs, communications, and digital transformation. Tasks related to program development, educational quality accreditation, expansion of cooperation, and preparation for the next development phase continued to be prioritized.
Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Truong Tan Dat – Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of Dong Thap University – acknowledged the achievements made in the first six months of the year. He also requested Party committees, units, and all staff and Party members to focus on effectively carrying out key tasks in the coming period. These include strengthening Party building work; completing targets and missions for 2026; developing human resources; renewing university governance, administrative reform, and digital transformation; and continuing to build an educational environment that is united, humane, creative, quality‑oriented, and learner‑centered.
In the last six months of 2026, the Party Committee of Dong Thap University will continue promoting solidarity, responsibility, and innovation in leadership and direction; strengthening discipline and order; and improving the quality of advisory work, governance, and task implementation. Party committees and units will base their plans on the Conference’s conclusions and the Party Committee’s working program to ensure that tasks are implemented synchronously, practically, and effectively.
With seriousness, responsibility, and high consensus, the Conference serves as an important foundation for the Party Committee of Dong Thap University to continue improving the quality of Party building work, enhancing the leadership role of the Party organization in the University’s activities, contributing to the successful completion of tasks in 2026 and laying the groundwork for stable and sustainable development.
