On March 7, Dong Thap University held the Inauguration Ceremony of Dong Thap University One Member Limited Liability Company, marking a new milestone in strengthening the connection between training, scientific research, and the practical needs of society.
The event was attended by representatives of the leaders of Dong Thap Province; representatives of provincial departments and agencies; partner organizations and units; the Rectoral Board of Dong Thap University along with leaders of faculties, offices, and centers; representatives of leaders from preschools, primary schools, lower secondary schools, and upper secondary schools in Dong Thap Province, as well as a large number of lecturers.
Dong Thap University currently offers multidisciplinary training with education as its foundational strength. In 2026, the University will offer and recruit for 03 doctoral programs, 18 master's programs, more than 60 undergraduate majors/specializations, and 01 college-level program in early childhood education. The University’s training system consists of 27 units, including 01 School of Education. In terms of quality assurance, the University is the first institution in the Mekong Delta to meet the quality standards of the Ministry of Education and Training and to receive the UPM 5-star benchmarking certification. Alongside training, the University consistently prioritizes scientific research and innovation, with numerous ministerial- and provincial-level projects and hundreds of research works by lecturers and students published in domestic and international scientific journals.
In the context of universities increasingly emphasizing the linkage between training and practical application, the establishment of the Dong Thap University One Member Limited Liability Company aims to create a flexible mechanism for implementing scientific and technological applications, knowledge transfer, and the development of community-oriented services. The Company is oriented to become a bridge connecting the University with businesses, localities, and the market, contributing to bringing the University’s research products into real-life practice.
Through the affiliated enterprise model, the Company will implement applied research activities, technology transfer, short-term training, professional consulting, and the provision of scientific and technological services in various fields where the University has strengths, such as education, information technology, high-tech agriculture, environment, economics, and tourism. These are also fields that hold practical significance for the development of Dong Thap Province and the Mekong Delta region.
In addition to scientific and technological activities, the Company aims to develop training services, professional skills development, and management consulting for agencies, organizations, businesses, and local households. Short-term training programs, capacity-building courses in management, technology application, or tourism and cultural development will help spread the University’s knowledge and expertise to the community.
The Company is expected to become a practical training and internship environment for students, especially those majoring in economics, business administration, Vietnamese studies, and tourism. By directly participating in the operation, management, and project implementation of the enterprise, students will have opportunities to experience real working environments, develop professional skills, and enhance their adaptability to the labor market after graduation.
Additionally, the Company will participate in organizing travel services, scientific events, educational, cultural, and sports activities; and support field trips and practical programs serving the University’s training and research. These are also potential areas for development, contributing to expanding cooperation networks and enhancing the reputation and brand of Dong Thap University in the region.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong – Rector of Dong Thap University – emphasized that the establishment of the Dong Thap University One Member Limited Liability Company is an important milestone in the University’s development strategy, contributing to strengthening the connection between the University, businesses, and the community. In the context of the knowledge economy and digital transformation, universities play a crucial role in knowledge creation, scientific research, and technology transfer for societal development.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong expressed his expectation that the Company will serve as a bridge to bring scientific research results from lecturers, scientists, and students into practice, while contributing to building an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem within the University. This will allow research ideas and creative initiatives to develop into products and services with economic and social value.
The establishment of the Dong Thap University One Member Limited Liability Company opens a new direction in linking training and scientific research with practical application. Through this enterprise model, the University aims to enhance the effectiveness of knowledge transfer, expand cooperation with agencies, organizations, and businesses, and create more opportunities for student practice and internships. This contributes to promoting the scientific and technological potential, human resources, and facilities of Dong Thap University in service of local and regional development.
