In celebration of the 2025–2030 Congress of the Party Committee of Dong Thap University and in anticipation of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025–2030 term, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student Association at Dong Thap University successfully organized the Final Round of the 7th Open Student Chess and Chinese Chess Tournament 2025 on March 2.
The tournament drew 50 players from 11 faculties and 2 student clubs, competing in both chess and Chinese chess categories. Matches were conducted under the Swiss system, featuring five rounds of rapid play, with each game lasting 40 minutes. Outstanding individual players were honored with First, Second, and Third prizes in each category. Additionally, team awards (First, Second, and Third) were presented to the top-performing groups, recognizing collective excellence and strategic teamwork.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, President of the Vietnam Student Association at Dong Thap University, the tournament served as a meaningful platform for intellectual competition. It not only encouraged a proactive and creative spirit among students but also contributed to their personal development through Youth Union and academic activities. Moreover, the event plays an important role in identifying and nurturing talented students who can represent the university in future intercollegiate and regional sports competitions.
