The event was attended by the University’s leaders; the Chairman of the Scientific and Training Council; the Admissions Counseling Steering Committee of the University for 2024; representatives of departments, centers, the Youth Union, and Student Association; leaders of the Faculty of Education, training faculties, lecturers assigned to support the admissions counseling activities of the faculties; students assisting in the admissions counseling activities, and all staff of the Student Affairs and Communications Department.
The event reviewed and evaluated the 2024 admissions counseling activities, shared experiences, and proposed improvements to enhance the quality of admissions counseling in the coming years. The event also combined university admissions counseling with promoting other types of training and development programs. Awards were given to individuals and groups who excelled in the 2024 admissions counseling work.
In 2024, the University of Dong Thap carried out the admissions counseling with various rich, practical, and creative forms. The university diversified its counseling methods, promoted recruitment efforts, and shared information. It also increased cooperation with high schools and continuing education centers in Dong Thap Province and other provinces for admissions counseling.
Specific results of the 2024 admissions counseling activities: The University received over 33,000 applications for admission, with more than 15,000 applications for the first choice. Statistics on enrollment targets and the number of students admitted in 2024 showed 4,331 new students.
For the 2025 admissions counseling, the university will continue to diversify and effectively implement various recruitment activities and communication channels. The school will also expand its scope and recruiting areas beyond Dong Thap Province, combining counseling efforts with training programs at different levels and types. Additionally, the university will intensify the implementation of preferential policies and policies for attracting students from various backgrounds, including prioritizing students from very small ethnic groups.
