According to the Nature Index rankings released in early June, Dong Thap University is ranked 19th out of 62 research and training institutions in Vietnam. This list includes universities, research institutes, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and companies that have published works in prestigious international scientific journals included in the Nature Index database.
In the specific ranking of 28 Vietnamese academic research and training institutions with published works in Nature Index journals, Dong Thap University is ranked 14th. 
In the field of Physics research, Dong Thap University is ranked 11th among 23 Vietnamese research and training institutions with publications in Nature Index journals. 
This marks the third time since 2018 that Dong Thap University has had publications included in the Nature Index list.
Nature Index is a database that tracks the contributions of institutions, countries/regions, and scientific outputs. In 2014, the Nature Index covered 64 journals in the natural sciences. By 2018, it had expanded to 82 journals in the natural sciences, and in 2023, it added 64 journals in health sciences. As of now, the Nature Index includes a total of 145 journals in the natural sciences and health sciences.
