On the morning of May 4th, Dong Thap University collaborated with the Dong Thap Department of Justice to organize the "Finals of the Law Understanding Competition for Dong Thap University Students 2024," which attracted the participation of over 400 students.
Attending the event from Dong Thap province were Ms. Le Thi Hong Phuong, Director of the Department of Justice and Head of the Organizing Committee; Mr. Pham Van Phong, Deputy Director and representative of the leadership of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province, Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department, Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh Tri, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dong Thap Province. From Dong Thap University were Mr. Cao Dao Thep, Vice Rector of Dong Thap University and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Tran Manh Thuy Quynh, Deputy Head of Student Affairs and Communications Department; Mr. Le Phuoc Vinh, Secretary of the Dong Thap University Youth Union, along with other members of the organizing, evaluation, and editorial teams.
The Law Understanding Competition for Dong Thap University Students 2024 consisted of two online rounds, attracting over 10,000 student participants. In the finals, each faculty nominated a team to compete in two parts: a legal knowledge quiz and a situational handling exercise. The legal knowledge quiz covered a wide range of topics including regulations, legal documents, and foundational issues within the legal system. The situational handling exercise tested students' flexibility, logic, and ability to apply legal knowledge to practical scenarios.
At the conclusion, the Organizing Committee recognized and awarded 14 outstanding teams and 70 individuals. Particularly, the first prize went to the Faculty of Economics and Law, the second prize to the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the third prize to the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics Education. Additionally, eight encouragement prizes were awarded to participating faculties.
The Law Understanding Competition for Dong Thap University Students 2024 garnered significant interest from students, faculty, and staff alike. Through close cooperation between Dong Thap University and the Dong Thap Department of Justice, the program not only provided a valuable platform for students but also advanced legal knowledge, fostering understanding, compliance, and advocacy of their legal rights and interests. This competition not only offered students an opportunity to master legal knowledge but also served as a crucial link between education and practical legal experience, promoting the development of innovative and effective legal thinking.
