DONG THAP UNIVERSITY STARTS CONSTRUCTIONS OF LECTURE HALL AND DEPARTMENTAL OFFICES BUILDING

On the morning of April 7th, Dong Thap University held a ceremony for the construction of the Lecture Hall and Departmental Offices building (Building H3), with a total investment exceeding 90 billion VND. The Lecture Hall and Departmental Offices of Dong Thap University will be located within the university campus, on a construction site covering an area of 6,484 square meters, with a building area of 900 square meters.
Attending the program from the Ministry of Education and Training were Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, Deputy Director of the Project Management Board of the Ministry of Education and Training. From Dong Thap Province, there were Comrade Tran Tri Quang, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Huynh Minh Doan, former Central Committee Member, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Dong Thap, and other leaders and former leaders from Provincial Departments, Cao Lanh City People's Committee, and Ward 6 People's Committee. Also present were representatives from universities, enterprises, partners, and public construction units. Representing Dong Thap University were Dr. Truong Tan Dat, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Ho Van Thong, University President, along with council members, vice presidents, former vice presidents, leaders of the University's retired faculty association, unit heads, deputies, and students.
The architectural design of the building is modern, centrally located within the campus area, with convenient access to D2 Road for external activities, harmoniously integrating with overall transportation and communication infrastructure within the university grounds.
The 9-story building will have a height of 40.6 meters. The construction area is approximately 900 square meters, with a total floor area of about 7,890 square meters; each of the 1st, 2nd, and 9th floors will have approximately 900 square meters, while floors 3 to 8 will each have around 850 square meters. The structure features a simple, modern design with 2 staircases and 5 elevators.
Upon completion, the facility will serve modern functional areas to support the university's educational activities, accommodating over 300 personnel and equipped with 2,040 seats in the multi-purpose lecture hall, designed with state-of-the-art teaching equipment.
Besides focusing on professional training, Dong Thap University consistently upgrades, expands, and invests in the most modern facilities among universities in the Mekong Delta region. These include wireless internet systems, multi-functional classrooms, smart classrooms, sports training grounds, lecture halls, electronic libraries, and traditional libraries, all tailored to meet the needs of student-centered learning.
