ONLINE MEETING BETWEEN DONG THAP UNIVERSITY AND LEYTE NORMAL UNIVERSITY (PHILIPPINES)

On the afternoon of May 2, 2024, Dong Thap University (DThU) participated in an online meeting with Leyte Normal University (LNU) to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting saw the presence of distinguished representatives from both universities. Participants from LNU included Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre - University President, Dr. Rommel L. Verecio - Director, International Affairs and External Linkages, Dr. Cleofe L. Lajara - Dean, College of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Lilibeth B. Fallorina - Academic Chair, Arts & Humanities Department, Dr. Joyce Magtolis - Dean, College of Education, Dr. Luis Luigi Eugenio A. Valencia - Academic Chair, Elementary Education Department, Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Tan - Academic Chair, Secondary Education Department, Dr. Solomon Faller, Jr. - Dean, Graduate School. Participants from DThU included Mr. Cao Dao Thep - Vice-Rector, Ms. Nguyen Anh Thu - Head of the International Affairs Office, Dr. Bui Van Thang - Head of the Academic Affairs Office, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Vinh Phuc - Vice Dean of the School of Education, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu - Dean of the Faculty of Primary and Preschool Education, Dr. Tran Thi Nhung - Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Teacher Education, Dr. Nguyen Kim Bup - Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Teacher Education, Dr. Vo Phan Thu Ngan - Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Tuyet Trinh - Staff of the Graduate Studies Office.

During the meeting, both parties discussed various issues including student exchanges, field trips, volunteering opportunities, university faculty and researcher exchanges, methods for academic collaboration such as visiting lecturers, short-term courses, Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), and the organization of joint research projects, conferences, and meetings. They also discussed the exchange of information and publications.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to continue discussions to implement the areas of mutual interest effectively, aiming to deepen and enhance the international cooperation between the two universities.
