On 3rd of March 2014, Mr. Vo Thanh Tung – Vice Rector of Dong Thap University had a meeting with Mr. Tran Van Toi – representative of the General Association of Vietnamese Cambodian in Cambodia. Through this meeting, Dong Thap University officially received five Vietnamese Cambodian students to study at the school.

This is a full scholarship program of Dong Thap Univeristy, which aims to help the children of Vietnamese with difficult circumstances in Cambodia to have a chance to pursue higher education.
