On March 04th morning, A Counseling Day for University Admission and Job Orientation – 2023 was co-organized in Dong Thap University by the Youth Newspaper, Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training - MOET), General Department of Vocational Education (Ministry of Labors, War Invalids and Social Affairs - MOLISA), Dong Thap’s Department of Education and Training and Dong Thap University.

Present at the event were Ms. Nguyễn Thúy Hà, Provincial Party Member, Director of Dong Thap’s Department of Education And Training; Mr. Cao Dao Thep, MA, Vice-Rector of Dong Thap University; Mr. Bui Thanh, a reporter and also an editorial member of the Youth Newspaper; representatives of 11 universities, colleges in Mekong Delta and Dong Thap University, the event co-hosts; teachers and more than 3.000 high school students in Dong Thap province.

The event “A Counseling Day for University Admission and Job Orientation – 2023” offered high school students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so that any of the latter’s questions, enquiries and concerns regarding to the upcoming 2023 national graduation exam, university admission, major choice… could be deliberately answered and explained via provided leaflets, pamphlets, audio announcements and in-person counseling channels,… which altogether facilitates students to make appropriate plans for their future jobs. 

At the event, added to the representatives of provincial departments of education and training were those from universities and colleges with their 10 booths providing information packages and answers to any questions about training programs, training institutions raised by concerned students and students’ parents. It’s noticeable that students had a good chance to experience and get to know the future jobs in close relation with the training programs offered by 11 faculties of Dong Thap University.

Dong Thap University is one of the institutions that offers multi-major training programs, so it took this chance to introduce the students not only just its strongly and widely recognized training programs for teacher education but also those with public’s high attention and a high rate of employment after graduation like Economics and Business administration, English language, Chinese language, Environment Science, Aquatic, Agriculture studies, Social work, Culture and Tourism.

Accordingly, Dong Thap enrolls more than 4,000 students who are going to enter into 41 four-year regular training programs (04 of which are the newly approved ones), 01 three-year training program via four independent enrolment methods.
It’s noticeable that from 2023 admission season, the University offers interesting preferential policies for those who register into its training programs after getting high result in the 2023 national graduation exam as follow:
Free tuition fee for the first semester is offered the students whose total marks in the chosen subject group are 25 or more (no priority mark is mentioned) and whose academic performance in grade 12 is from Good or higher. To those who successfully enter the training programs for teacher education will be awarded with a scholarship package of VND 6 million per semester (equal to the fee for Training Programs in Group VII) apart from the financial support in accordance with the government’s Decree.
Free tuition fee will be continuously extended to such students in the next semesters on the condition that their academic performance remains in Good rank and their training indexes reach Good level or higher.
The university has implemented allowance disbursement at VND 3.630.000 each per month to the students of teacher education training programs in accordance with the Decree N0. 116/2020.
