On January 9th, Dong Thap University received and worked with a delegation from Champask’ department of Education and Sports, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Mr. Souvannasane Bouathong, the department director.
During the meeting, representatives of each side took turns introducing and sharing information about their interest and suggesting activities or programs for future cooperation, especially for cooperative training programs and intensive cooperation programs between both entities. At the meeting's end, the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation, sketching the connection and cooperation programs for education, scientific research, student or lecturer exchanges.

As the cooperation program states, Dong Thap University, with the assistance of Champasak University, will provide training courses on human resources for Champasak department of Education and Sports, namely the training courses on Vietnamese language, undergraduate and graduate programs relating to the majors that Dong Thap University is entitled in accordance with the current regulation. Additionally, Dong Thap University commits to grant scholarships to all students of undergraduate programs who come from Champasak province by offering free exemption of tuition fee to them in 2023, and a 50% tuition reduction since 2024. It’s noticeable that Dong Thap University is going to provide free accommodation, water and electricity supply for the students nominated by Champasak department of Education and Sports as well as a full scholarship package for 20 percent of those with excellent academic performance among their peers within one enrollment season.
2. Expanding cooperation opportunities between the University and Enterprises – Meeting session with Continental Textile Co., Ltd
Dong Thap University had a meeting session with a working group from Continental Textile Co., Ltd, led by Mr. Zhai Lei, the company’s Administration Manager. During the meeting, representatives of each party took turn introducing and sharing information about their work interest and at the same time expressed their wishes for forming connection and cooperation for the time to come.

Continental Textile Co., Ldt donating scholarship grants to University’s students
Continental Textile Co., Ltd donated twenty scholarship grants, worth VND 20 million in total, to Dong Thap University’s disadvantaged students. The meeting ended with both parties’ suggestions on cooperation contents and mutual agreement on the University’s provision of high-quality human resource to Continental Textile Co., Ltd.

During the meeting session, representatives of each party took turn introducing and sharing information about their work interest and at the same time expressed their wishes for forming connection and cooperation between the two universities for the time to come. Meanwhile, both parties signed a cooperation agreement, promoting their growth of their Scientific Journals, took commitments to maintaining the cooperation relations in such training fields as exchange of students and lecturers, scientific research, especially the organization of international scientific conferences.
With its high sense of demonstrating progressive attitude and making effort to improve training quality, study the society’s demands, considering the reality into its professional activities, Dong Thap University and its entire affiliates take proactive measures to establish cooperation relationships, share potentialities for a stronger connection and ultimate exploration of human resources and development conditions to effectively serve the development of the University in particular and the whole region in general.
