Performing arts exchange program between Dong Thap University and the Traditional Dancing Research Center of Ryukyu, Japan

        On November 29th, 2015, Dong Thap University in cooperation with Traditional Dancing Research Center of Ryukyu, Okinawa, Japan organized a performing arts exchange program so as to introduce Vietnam – Japan cultural characteristics.
 
 
        Warmly welcoming the Ryukyu Performing Arts Troupe, from DThU’s side was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van De – Rector of DThU, Dr. Nguyen Van Ban - Vice Rector of DThU along with more than 400 teachers and students. Also, there were the presences of Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung – Director of Minh Tran Co. Ltd. – Special Goodwill Ambassador in Hyogo province, Japan – Tourism Ambassador for Kansai province, Japan and Mrs. Nakamura Yoneko – Chairwoman of Traditional Dancing Research Center of Ryukyu together with 18 artists.
 
 
        Contributing to the success of the performing arts exchange program, the art items from Japanese and Vietnamese artists played an important role.  Some of the Japanese artists’ items had made a strong impression on Vietnamese audiences such as: Ryukyu dance which was once performed in courts to welcome high ranking officials, Eisa drum dance in the eloquent and strong rhythms and the couple’s traditional love dance. 
 
 
        In order to present Vietnam cultural national characteristics to Japanese friends, the faculty of Arts Teacher Education chose 4 performance turns. And Dong Thap Chanty and monochord performance had also left a deep impression on Japanese friends about the natural beauty of Vietnam people and country. 
 
 
        At the end of the performing arts exchange program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van De expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung for giving DThU the opportunity to organize such kind of significant event and hoped that Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung would be always the bridge between DThU and Japanese partners in the coming time.
